Hindi Meaning (हिन्दी अर्थ):
रहीम कहते हैं, धन-संपदा (लक्ष्मी) चंचल है, एक जगह स्थिर नहीं रह सकती; जो ऐसा सोचते हैं, वह अधर्मी हैं. लक्ष्मी तो प्रभु विष्णु की पत्नी है, जो इसे अपना समझता है उसका अहित होना स्वाभाविक है. अर्थात् उस मूर्ख की फजीहत कैसे नहीं होगी, जो लक्ष्मी को अपनी कहकर या अपनी मानकर चलेगा.
English Phonetics:
Kamla thir na Rahim kahi, lakhat adham je koy.
Prabhu ki so apni kahe, kyon na fajihat hoy.
English Meaning:
Rahim says wealth (Lakshmi) is agile, cannot remain stable in one place; those who think so are unrighteous. Lakshmi is the consort of Lord Vishnu, who considers it her own; it is natural for them to be hurt. How will the fool not be troubled, who will walk by saying or believing Lakshmi as his own?
